Just as FHA loansweren’t used as much as they should have from 2000 – 2006, because subprime and some conventional loans were easier for the loan officer to give to the consumer, even though it might not have been the best loan for them. I am sure in some cases, FHA loans are given before the USDA loan because of the lack of education on the loan officers part…. just my .02.”

“Gov. Bobby Jindal announced plans to use nearly $246 million in surplus funds for a variety of road projects, including $20 million more for additional Interstate 12 widening in Livingston Parish. A $100 million project is underway to widen I-12 to Range Avenue. Jindal says the new money will extend the work further into Livingston. The list of projects, which was compiled by the DOTD, also includes additional funds for extending Interstate 49 north and south.”

Denham Springs, Louisiana Real Estate News – Accurate Valuations Group Study Shows South Point Subdivision Pre & Post Hurricane Katrina Increases 22.5%. William D. Cobb, a home appraiser with Accurate Valuations Group in the Greater Baton Rouge, LA market, is pleased to announce a gain in average home prices within South Point Subdivision. Based on data obtained from The Greater Baton Rouge Board of Realtors, the gain in average homes prices within within South Point Subdivision Pre to Post Hurricane Katrina has been 22.5%. The median price has increased 21%. The average price per sq. ft. has increased 20%.
